This year’s #ElonDay will be bigger and better than ever. Elon Day started with the 125th anniversary of Elon’s founding and is a way to connect with Elon University alumni, students and friends using social media. It has had such a great turn out This year the theme is “We Are Elon,” promoting that whatever your affiliation with Elon, as a student, parent, friend, or donor, we all have a connection to Elon.
“It’s a day to come together and celebrate our pride in Elon,” said Keren Rivas, assistant
director of university communications for alumni communications. “It’s also about philanthropy. We want to make it known in the community the importance of making gifts to the university to support our programs.”
Students around campus are invited to a day filled with events such as College Coffee which will have a special program with different speakers, programs at Speaker’s Corner, a student party, and a senior toast.
“Elon day is a celebration of how far we’ve come but a rally for how far we still have to develop,” said Sophie Faxon, junior.
Megan McClure, director of development communications, shared that most of the money goes towards Elon’s greatest needs, athletics, the scholarship fund and the Elon Experiences.
All Elon community members are invited to join the #ElonDay Celebrations beginning with College Coffee on March 7.
